This summer, I am working at Americana World Community Center, community center in South Louisville that served families who are immigrants, refugees, or underserved. We provide ESL classes, GED classes, early childhood education, community events, after-school program and a seven week summer program for up to 200 children. I currently teach 2nd and 3rd grade. I can attest that the work Americana does for these children truly sets them up for academic, professional, and personal success. As a community, we can break the cycle of poverty by providing meaningful programming and aid to these families and better our society.

Help us keep the summer program at Americana’s where a 7-week program is packed with learning (the fun kind—no tests!), exercise, and good food. But quality programs like ours, with engaging curriculum and memorable experiences, cost money to create; specifically, $200 for each child.
