Summer is here!

For kids, it is the season for fun, for making new friends, and for new experiences outside of school. Unfortunately, for many families Americana serves, it can also mean the “summer slide,” when students fall behind after their academic achievements during the school year. Summer can also entail food scarcity and limited supervision for kids whose parents work late hours or hold multiple jobs, and who, through no fault of their own, can’t afford quality childcare or nutritious food.

This is where we come in.

Americana is asking you to make this summer special, safe, and smart for one child by sponsoring their participation in our Summer Program.

Americana’s 7-week program, well underway, is packed with learning (the fun kind—no tests!), exercise, and good food. But quality programs like ours, with engaging curriculum and memorable experiences, cost money to create; specifically, $200 for each child.

We know this is a lot to ask for, but any amount of money you can give will help us provide our Americana Kids with a magical summer.

Your donation will show a child that someone believes in them. Additionally, amidst city budget cuts, a decrease in support from Metro United Way for area organizations, and the closing of city pools, your sponsorship is even more important. We’ve had to use more resources providing kids opportunities to swim and transportation to get there.

We hope we can count on you to help us bridge the gap and provide a high-quality, summer experience for these children.
